Unleash the Learning Adventure: 10 Un-schooling Ideas for School Holidays! The school holidays are either wrapping up, or... just beginning, depending on which school schedule you are hooked up with. Either way, in the spirit of lifelong learning without walls, may we offer you a short list of cool things to do outside of school. We like to call them "un-schooling" 1. Get outside, join the revolution of walking. We love Macrichie Reservoir which is a short walk from our home. 2. Take up a new (or old) Hobby. How about painting on cardboard, gardening, roller skating, whistling... 3. Read. Read anything n everything (creativity loves cross-fertilization of ideas) when was the last time you read a book simply because you loved it? 4. Get in the water; a beach or a pool. Water connects us to our creativity and offers a momentary if fleeting experience of flow 5. Make art. The bonus is to make art with a kid. Getting messy is a double bonus. Learn more!

Community Spotlight! Desiree Tung, a "deep tech ecosystem builder",and one of our recent VFL participants, found the sessions on the live graphic recording process and application to be a highlight of the 2-day workshop. Jumping in to volunteer to scribe the visual harvest at the end of day one, she enjoyed the process of capturing the key points of a discussion in real-time and creating a visual summary that could be shared with others. After the workshop, Desiree started incorporating graphic recording into her work and found that it helped her team to understand complex ideas more quickly and easily. She also found that her visual summaries were more engaging and memorable than traditional written reports. She even introduced the idea of graphic recording to her daughter who created drawings to tell the story of highlights of her day!

Overcome FODO and Embrace Your Creative Mindset First of all, what is FODO? You know FOMO as “Fear Of Missing Out”. But do you know FODO? I think 9/10 adults do. We hear it all the time as a #1 excuse for not drawing; "Fear OF DRAWING Out" We can laugh about it, but don’t use that as an excuse to hold you back from connecting with and expressing your true genius! That was the context of our recent collaboration with Toastmasters to present "Embrace your creative mindset and overcome your FODO". We taught this group of professional speakers and speakers-in-training to recognize fear, when it holds them back, and how to harness this as a force for change.

A skillful coach is a nimble gardener with a bountiful bag of seeds for planting ideas, a steady toolkit of great questions asked at just the right time, and a pair of pruning shears to trim away the weeds to help you to see more clearly. One of the coaches added a bench to the garden and said: “you need time to pause & reflect”. Another responded to a birdbath with an attendant bird as a reminder of “the power of community and sharing ideas”.

For a good part of the past 2 years, Every Singaporean and resident carried a token in their pocket and presented this personal piece of technology whenever we stepped into a shop, office, or even the local hawker center. Over time, this personal token was replaced with the "Trace Together" smartphone app. But do you know the company behind this technology?
